“Last week, the National Police of Haiti launched at the national level, a recruitment call, designed specifically for young women who want to make a career in the police.
Interested candidates must be among other Haitian, aged between 18 and 25 years, measuring 1.60 m minimum, be in possession of a Bac II (minimum) and have some knowledge in Spanish..
The candidates admitted after a contest will be trained for 10 months in Colombia, before joining the police force. Indeed, in the framework of bilateral relations, Colombia has committed to train 250 Haitian women over a period of 5 years [50 each year]. Meanwhile in Haiti, other young female police officer will be trained.
Recall that the female staff of the PNH, only represent 7.6% and with these new trainings, the PNH reiterates its commitment to increase the participation of women within the PNH.”
